The month of repentance is about to come to an end and the great festival of the Blowing of the Trumpets begins in Israel on Wednesday evening at sundown. Throughout the land, hundreds of shofars will be blown in synagogues, neighborhoods, and Messianic congregations - a dress rehearsal for the great day of the Trumpet announcing the arrival of our Lord and Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Could He appear this year? The truth is that He may come at any time and it is incumbent upon us to be ready for His appearing. I am well aware that there are differing opinions about the Second Coming, the Rapture, etc. My point here is simply this: the Festival of Trumpets reminds us that He IS coming and we are exhorted to eagerly await His return, to desire His appearing and to prepare our hearts to welcome Him.
At this sacred time I wanted to share with you the sounds of the Shofar - that amazing sound that one day we will hear and all of history will culminate in Him.
May this week's holidays and the Day of Atonement to follow shortly thereafter be a time in which each of us draws closer to Him. Let your faith arise, your love increase for, as the song says, 'Soon and very soon, we are going to see the King.'
