Is it just a scientific phenomenon or is God speaking to America?
I believe that the total solar eclipse, which will take place over the United States on August 21, 2017, is a sign in the heavens of the soon return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It will be the FIRST TOTAL solar eclipse over America since 1776. That in itself should get our attention.
In this Hebrew year of 5777/2017 there has been an unprecedented convergence of several significant events, signaling a divine interruption into the affairs of the United States and the world. Among them are:
50 years since the reunification of Jerusalem & the Jesus Movement
70 years since the decree to re-establish the State of Israel
70 years since the Latter Rain outpouring, the roots of the Charismatic movement
Even Trump’s age on his inauguration: 70 yrs., 7 mos, 7 days is no accident for there are no accidents with God. This is not a political statement, simply an observation of the fact.
When the Eclipse occurs, it will be a 67 mile wide path of pitch black darkness for 3-5 minutes at each location as it moves across the nation. It will cross 14 states beginning in Oregon and ending on the border of South Carolina and Georgia. It will look like a massive seat belt across America. The Lord is telling His children to ‘buckle up’ – We are about to go on quite a ride!
Numbers are always important and to be noted when God is at work.
67 miles wide – Look at Psalm 67:1-2 God, be gracious to us and bless us, and cause Your Face to shine upon us that Your way be known on the earth Your salvation among all the nations. This pathway will be a spiritual tsunami from God through America, calling us to awaken, turn back to Him, repent for our national and person sins and seek His face that He may shine His face upon us.
As this happens, on August 21 - or 8/21- look at Psalm 82:1 God takes His stand in the midst of the nations. Coincidence?
AND...did you know that there will be another Solar Eclipse in exactly 7 years – April 8, 2024. The world is about to enter an unprecedented seven year period in human history and at the end of it, the two eclipses will have formed the sign of the CROSS over America.
It's also no coincidence that this Solar Eclipse on August 21 will take place EXACTLY 40 days before Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, God's holiest day of the year. Forty days and forty years are mentioned several times in the Scripture. And at sundown on August 21begins the Hebrew month of Elul, which is the annual month of repentance leading up to the Fall Festivals of the Lord (Leviticus 23).
Coincidence? Hardly!!!!

What's the bottom line message?
May our hearts be right before Him and may we be ready to stand with Him and for Him in the unfolding of our Redemption! Even so, Come, Lord Jesus!
